A Muhlenberg County, Ky., man was killed when the ATV he was riding struck a metal fence near the old Gibraltar mine land at the Peabody Wildlife Management Area. The 49-year-old victim was riding with about four friends when the crash occurred. He did not see a gate across the road, was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene, according to Kentucky State Police. He was not wearing a helmet.
